Bridget Mazora is a 16 year old girl of Mazora village in Masaiti’s Lumano ward. She is the last born in a family of 5.

She tested positive for HIV last year and started treatment. Prior to knowing her status, Bridget would constantly fall very ill and would not attend school. Despite this challenge, Bridget’s passion to learn was not deterred not even when she found out she was HIV+.

After starting her treatment and having improved health, Bridget prepared and sat for her grade 9 exams last year and qualified to the 10th Grade. Despite this achievement, her mother being a widow with limited financial capacity could not afford to pay her school fees.

With the help of ZAMFAM, she has continued to pursue her desire to learn at Fiwale Secondary School

Bridget dreams of becoming a Nurse to help the sick or a Journalist to disseminate health information.
